Getting Started & Creating Momentum

Course Description
In this training track, pioneers and church planters in the early stages will receive practical teaching and wisdom from experienced practitioners. Join Wouter, Auke and Beverly as they explore practical leadership lessons learned from their own experience of planting Novio Church in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Together they will unpack each of the different phases of church planting; preparation, getting feet on the ground, launching, growing momentum and getting established. In the sessions there will be opportunities to talk openly about the specific challenges and potential pitfalls that many pioneers face as they start out.

Your hosts

Wouter Vertegaal
Wouter grew up in the Netherlands. He served as an elder and later team leader at Life Church Peterborough. After 15 years in the UK he moved in 2022 back to the Netherlands to lead a team to plant Novio, a thriving church plant in Nijmegen. He enjoys being a dad to 4 daughters and is passionate in serving other Relational Mission churches in the Netherlands together with the RM-NL apostolic team.
Beverly Meijers
Beverly grew up in a big family in New Hampshire, U.S.A. and is passionate about the church being family; and also the beautiful blend of different cultures and languages coming together to worship God. She loves investing in spiritual brothers/sisters (particularly teens and 20's) and seeing them on fire for Jesus. She was on the leadership team at Newfrontiers Church in N.H. for three years before joining the team planting into Nijmegen, Netherlands. She's married to Auke and has two young boys, Siem and Boaz.
Auke Meijers
Auke grew up in the Netherlands but moved in his early twenties to the USA to marry Beverly. He was part of New Frontiers Church and was a leadership resident before moving back to the Netherlands in 2022 to join the team to churchplant Novio Church in Nijmegen. This has been a big adventure and great joy in his life! Auke is passionate about equipping the next generation and spearheads different teen initiatives for Relational Mission in the Netherlands.
